Botswana (11/18-11/21/24)

Botswana is a landlocked country located in Southern Africa. It was one of the few African nations to achieve independence from Britain in 1966 without bloodshed. After gaining independence, Botswana discovered diamonds and subsequently became the world’s largest diamond-producing country. With a sparse population of around 2 million people, Botswana’s standard of living is considered high compared to other African countries, second only to South Africa.

Chobe National Park is Botswana’s first and most biologically diverse national park. The park is home to the World’s largest population of elephants, with estimates ranging from 50,000 to 120,000. The town near the park has roads constructed in a way that wild animals are free to cross, and we see wildlife roaming around freely, including buffalos, warthogs, and impalas.

We spent 3 nights at Chobe Safari Lodge; we did 3 game drives and one river cruise. We saw the African Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, African buffalo and Rhinoceros) plus many other wildlifes. Giraffes, Baboons, lots of hippos in the river

Due to the ease of uploading photos and videos onto Facebook, I have been using the platform as a journal to keep track of my interesting activities. During our stay in Botswana, I published three posts on my Facebook page, including photos and videos. It is straightforward to embed these posts into my blog. I would love to hear your thoughts on this! Would it be convenient for you to view the links, or would you prefer to have the photos and videos directly included in the blog? Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Once you click on the Facebook link, you can view the pictures in a slideshow format by clicking on any image. When you are finished, press “ESC” to close FB and use the back arrow on the top left to return to the blog. Please let me know if you encounter any issues while viewing the posts. You can also mute the audio while watching video clips
