Spring Garden

Spring is my favorite season. Crocs, snowdrops and daffodils start popping up in mid-March signified that Spring indeeds is back. I usually leave leaves un-racked over the winter to protect insects and now I start to uncover what plants have return and it is always so exciting. Here are some spring flowers that are blooming in March. More are in the Google Link under the pictures.

Home Front

We moved to South Garth in 1981. The house faces West and other than some yews, there was no garden to speak of. Under my neighbor Emily Bonwich’s tutoring, I started to add flowers and plants to 304 gardens. First we got rid of the yews and planted a 10 years Gingko tree and two redbud seedlings in front. When both Gingko and Redbud grew huge after 30 years, the yard transformed into total shade garden. We took out the middle redbud for crowding. In its place I place a Taichi Yin-Yang circle, planted contract annuals in each half of the circle.
